Music for Youth National Festival is back!
Gloucestershire Music success at National Music Festival
Record numbers of students from Gloucestershire Music are heading into the final of a national festival following success at regional events.
In July, Gloucestershire Music will be taking over 200 young musicians to Music for Youth’s National Festival.
The event is being held at various locations across Birmingham including the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, Birmingham Town Hall and the impressive Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Music for Youth is the UK’s largest youth music festival and it’s national festival is the culmination of over 40 regional festivals. Gloucestershire will be well represented with five groups being invited to perform.
On Wednesday 4th July the County Youth Choir will attend a workshop with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain followed by an informal performance at the Festival Tent. Duality Winds (an advanced contemporary wind ensemble) and the Gloucestershire Youth String Orchestra will travel to Birmingham and perform on Thursday 5th followed by the Gloucestershire Youth Wind Orchestra on Friday 6th July. The week will culminate on Saturday 7th July when our very own Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra will perform.
