We are delighted to be able to partially reopen Colwell Arts Centre from the 26th April 2021 on a strict appointment-only basis. To collect, return or exchange an instrument, please contact us at glosmusic@gloucestershire.gov.uk to make an appointment.

 

Whilst we are unable to provide you with our normal music lessons, music centres, county music groups and events due to Government restrictions we are putting our efforts into providing you with some educational, fun, inspiring links to enable you to keep your music making going! Calling all musicians! Be part of the BBC Ten Pieces...

On Saturday 10th June, young musicians from Gloucestershire Music (Local Authority Music Service) will help celebrate the BBC Music Day.  Our BBC Ten Pieces day will be held at three locations in Stroud, Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.

Saturday 10th June 10:00 - 12:00 at Archway School, Stroud / Sir Thomas Rich’s School, Gloucester / Lakers School, Coleford.

You are invited! 
Musicians (from the very beginner to advanced) are invited to join our music centres, meet the members and work alongside our fantastic tutors.

 

Bull Fights & Bach
Works by Bizet and Bach will be among the works covered with music to suit all abilities.

 

How old or how good do I need to be?  
Musicians of all ages can join us.  Our three centres offer the following opportunities.

 

Brookfield Music Centre (Sir Thomas Rich’s School, Gloucester).  
Open to young musicians on all instruments.  Parts will be available for brass, strings, woodwind, percussion and guitars.  Adult musicians are welcome to join us for the morning.

Five Valleys Music Centre
 (Archway School, Stroud). 
Open to young musicians on all instruments.  Parts will be available for brass, strings, woodwind, percussion and guitars.  Adult musicians are welcome to join us for the morning.

 

Forest of Dean Area Wind Band (Lakers School, Coleford).  
Open to wind, brass and percussion musicians of all ages and abilities.   
Parts will be available for brass, woodwind, and percussion.

Current members of Gloucestershire Music's centres will already be attending so there is no need to register.  The cost for the morning is just £5 (payable on the day).
