WCET £10 Instrumental Hire Scheme

Just £10 to hire an instrument and join an orchestra!

For pupils who are receiving their first term of Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET)

Your child is currently receiving instrumental tuition delivered by Gloucestershire Music. This term, your child will receive 10 Whole Class Ensemble Tuition lessons (WCET) at their school developing skills in listening, notation, composition and performance.  Because your child receives these lessons, we can provide discounted instrument hire to help support home learning and to facilitate free access to one of our music centre foundation ensembles.

The instruments currently available as part of this scheme are:

Brass - Cornet, trumpet & baritone horn

Strings - Violin, viola, cello & guitar

Woodwind - Clarinet & flute

Percussion - Snare drum & glock pack

The instrument you hire must be the same type of instrument as the one your child is playing in their WCET lessons at school.

Please note: if your child is receiving WCET on recorder or ukulele it is more cost effective for you to buy an instrument than hire. Access to a music centre foundation orchestra is still available in this circumstance regardless of instrumental hire.

Instrument Delivery

Please ensure you book your instrument by Friday 1st October 2021 as instruments will be delivered to schools during the week of Monday 4th October 2021.  You are welcome to collect your instrument from our office before this date and orders received after Friday 1st October 2021 will be available for collection only from our HQ at Colwell Arts Centre, Derby Road, Gloucester, GL1 4AD.

Music Centre Foundation Ensembles

Sessions last for 45 - 60 minutes and are designed to improve ensemble skills through games, singing and practical music making.
