About Colwell Arts Jazz Ensemble

The Colwell Arts Jazz Ensemble (CAJE) is a senior level big band for adults. 


The band gives four or five public performance each year in concert halls, churches and outdoor venues.

CAJE  performed at the 2012/13 regional heat of the National Concert Band Festival at the Cheltenham Ladies College.  In April 2013 the band were successfully invited to attend the Natioal Concert Band Festival at the prestigious Adrian Boult Concert Hall at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music.

No audition is needed to join CAJE, but you will need to be of at least Associated Board Grade 5 equivalent, or above, to enjoy practising and performing the band's varied repertoire.

The band is conducted by bass player Richard Fitton-Perkins. 

Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm at Bourneside School in Cheltenham, term time only. Please check the calendar for more details.
